What is medicinal cannabis?
Medicinal cannabis is a term for derivatives of the Cannabis sativa plant that are used to ease symptoms caused by certain medical conditions.
Cannabis sativa contains many active compounds. The delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD) are well known. THC is known to cause psychoactive effects or let people “high”. CBD mostly has the effect as a medicine.
Research is also validating the plant’s efficacy in treating the symptoms of medical condition such as:
- Alzheimer's disease
- Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)
- HIV/AIDS
- Crohn's disease
- Epilepsy and seizures
- Glaucoma
- Multiple sclerosis and muscle spasms

What affect the growing of medicinal cannabis?
Light
Cannabis is a sun-love plant, light is the single most important environmental variable concerning plant growth. Whether growing indoors or in a greenhouse, proper lighting is essential for cannabis growth
Temperature
In the 24-30℃(75-86℉) range is recommended. Here is the chart:
Humidity
Relative Humidity (RH) is the amount of humidity present at a given temperature and is expressed as a percentage. As the temperature of a leaf increases, plants will pull more water from the growing media. Water is evaporated from the leaf surface and as a result the leaf temperature decreases.
Growing medium
Nutrient-rich soil is a good choice among growers. Other options include coco coir or peat moss, and aeroponic and hydroponic methods are also popular.
Water
Over-watering is the NO.1 mistake when growing medicinal cannabis, and the growing medium makes a difference. Lukewarm water with a balanced pH level (5.6-6.2) is the best.
The growth stage of medicinal cannabis
Each stage of medicinal cannabis growth requires different care.
Clone: cannabis plants need the maximum light ( about 18-24 hours) at this stage to grow well.
Vegetative: cannabis need flowing dry air, increased nutrients and at least 12 hours light to support their strong growth to flowering.
Flowering: gradually reduce light exposure to produce medicinal qualities. 12-12 hours day and night is pretty important for them.
